ZERØ OPTIK Pinhole 35mm f/87.5, f/175, f/350

Summary

ZERØ OPTIK may be best-known for rehousing a wide variety of vintage photo and cine lenses, but their very first product was a PL-mounted pinhole lens and inspired the very name of the company. When it debuted in 2016, their pinhole lens was a response to the proliferation of high-ISO modes in cine cameras and, therefore, the ability to capture full 24fps motion with the most primitive image-making device possible. Anyone who has experimented with pinhole photography wil be familiar with the process of modifying a plastic body cap or taping some aluminum foil across an open camera mount, but they wanted to take the engineering and product design to its logical extreme and gear the resulting lens specifically toward cinematography. The final product featured an aluminum body with stainless steel PL mount and a kit of three laser-drilled user-swappable pinhiles in different apertures (f/87.5, f/175, and f/350.)
