With the mainstream adoption of digital cinematography, the quantity and frequency of new lenses hitting the market as well as vintage lenses resurfacing has seen an unprecedented increase. As a result it has become challenging for professionals and enthusiasts alike to keep up with the flood of new solutions. There are plenty of resources for factual information and perhaps too much subjective content available for consumption which can lead to inconsistencies and confusion. CLeW will serve as a digital database of my brain in regards to lenses, new and old. As a life-long lens geek, I don't feel that I have the right to attempt such an endeavor, but rather a responsibility. Between myself, my family, the staff at Duclos Lenses, and our constant cooperative communication with the lens manufacturing community, we can lay the foundation for a comprehensive resource for future generations to have access to factual, objective data.
