Due to the front being heavy and the threads being so small, achieving a good balance between minimal image shift and good focus feel is difficult. Also, due to the design, when installing a front element that has been edge painted with something light like Pilot ink, it can be difficult to keep the element from spinning and thus scratching the edge paint.
