The DZOFilm X-Tract 18–28mm T8 is a full-frame probe zoom lens designed for macro and specialty cinematography, offering a parfocal zoom range from 18 to 28mm with a constant T8 aperture. It delivers up to 2.1:1 magnification with a minimum working distance of 6mm from the front element and a minimum focus distance of 47.3cm from the sensor. The optical design includes 7 high-refractive and 6 low-dispersion elements to minimize distortion (±2%), chromatic aberration, and focus breathing (~0.5% at 24mm), while maintaining over 70% relative illumination. Mechanically, the lens weighs approximately 1.09kg, features standard 0.8 mod gears, a ±300° focus throw, and is built with anodized aluminum. It is available in multiple configurations, including straight, 90°, and 360° probe variants. The 360° version includes a rotating periscope and prism for variable viewing angles. The lens is IP57-rated for dust and water resistance up to 28cm and functions in temperatures from –30°C to 70°C. It comes in PL mount and includes accessories such as a UV filter, support bracket, and case, with pricing around $3,499–3,799 depending on configuration.
