Based in Switzerland, Irix was founded in 2015. Utilizing optical manufacturing in Korea, Irix began with a small line of photography lenses. In 2019 they adapted several of their photo lens designs to cinema lenses. In 2020, they introduced their first purpose-built cinema lens, the 45mm T1.5.
