Pioneer of the original 4K digital cinema camera. Dalsa announced their first 4K cinema camera in 2003. The housing use either a cam/follower focus system or a combination of cams and focus threads. The optical blocks are mounted on linear bearings for smooth movement along the optical axis. They were meant to be serviced after every rental. The Dalsa 4K lenses were designed to discourage disassembly in an attempt to prevent reverse-engineering or use outside Dalsa control. If disassembled using the wrong procedure, it is nearly impossible to re-assemble correctly.
